This Long 12 Days Uganda & Rwanda Safari allows a tourist to enjoy adventure activities like gorilla trek, Wildlife viewing, city tours, boat rides, chimp tracking & more. The tour starts from Kigali Rwanda and ends in Kampala the capital city of Uganda.
Day 1: Arrival at Kigali international airport

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Upon your arrival at Kigali international airport, you will be welcomed and greeted by our safari guide/driver; he will brief you about the safari and later drive you to your booked accommodation in Kigali for relaxation dinner and an overnight at (Luxury) Mile Collins, (Mid-range) Kigali Serena Hotel, (budget) Step down Hotel
Day 2: Transfer to Ruhengeri
After breakfast at the lodge, you will be picked-up by the driver who will take you for a city tour. Places to visit include the genocide memorial sites, national museum, the first house, hand craft shops among others. Have lunch in Kigali, and then after, with a scenic drive, you will transfer to Volcanoes national park in Ruhengeri Musanze district. Arrive at the park in the evening for relaxation, Dinner and overnight at Mt Gorilla View Lodge | La Palme Hotel. Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury)/La Palme Hotel (Deluxe)/Muhabura Hotel (Budget).
Day3: Gorilla trekking in volcanoes national park
After breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters to receive short briefing from the park wardens about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas as well as get you assigned to the ranger guide and the gorilla family. After, head to the forest to begin the search of mountain gorillas. it’s a breathtaking moment to be among the 8 members allowed per group to trek the gorillas, sit among them listen to them grumble and marvel at the cheer full male silver buck, it’s a wonderful moment in life very difficult to forget. Return to the lodge for relaxation, and then in the evening, you will go for a cultural walk to Iby’wachu for cultural visit and learn more about the Banyarwanda culture/ visit the twin lakes of Ruhondo and Bulera. After the activity, return back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury)/La Palme Hotel (Deluxe)/Muhabura Hotel (Budget).
Day4: Trek golden monkey and then transfer to Kigali, and departure
In the morning after breakfast, drive again to the park headquarters to receive briefings about golden monkey tracking. Like mountain gorillas, golden monkeys are regarded as endangered species and they are fabulous fun to watch, they like jumping from one tree to another so a first camera is needed. After trekking, return to your hotel for lunch and refreshments and set off for Lake Kivu where you will relax at along the lake shores and later go back to the lodge for Dinner and overnight at Lake Kivu Serena hotel (Luxury)/ Palm gardens resort (Deluxe)/ Paradise marahide (Budget).
Day 5: Boat Ride & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After an early breakfast, enjoy a boat ride along the Lake Kivu Rwanda’s freshest water body and explore the neighboring island on the lake. Each island has different species of birds so you will enjoy watching them later have an early lunch and transfer to Uganda with a fantastic drive all through, crossing via Chanika boarder Uganda -Rwanda border to Lake Bunyonyi. Dinner and overnight at Birdnest/ Bunyonyi Resort.
Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park in Uganda
A morning breakfast is followed with a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park by 7:30am passing via the Ruhija side of Bwindi national park, arriving at the Ishasha sector around 11:00am for an opportunity to view various species of animals including the tree climbing lions, elephants and buffaloes among others. From here you will continue with a drive to QENP at Mweya safari lodge or its equivalent for lunch. After a hearty lunch, you will go for a launch cruise by 4pm at the Kazinga channel which connects lakes George and Edward. The kazinga channel offers a chance to spot various species of wildlife including hippos and crocodiles just meters from the boat, while elephants, buffaloes can be seen along the shoreline as well as very many species of birds. Day 7: Early game drives and then after transfer to Kibale national park
Wake up for a cup of tea or coffee and then after go for a game drive in the Kasenyi area of the park for an opportunity to see games like lions, leopard, bush bucks, antelopes, elephants, worth hogs among others. After go back to the lodge for a late breakfast, and relaxation. After lunch, you will transfer to Kibale national park, home of over 13 primate species coupled with chimpanzee the closest relative of man. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge (Luxury)/Mountains of the moon hotel (Deluxe)/Chimps nest lodge (Budget).
Day 8: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi wetland sanctuary
Wake up early for breakfast and then after assemble for a short briefing from the park wardens about the dos and don’ts while with chimps. After follow the ranger guide to the forest to begin the search of our closest relatives who shares almost 98% of human DNA make-up where you will stay until mid-day. Once they are met you strictly allowed only one hour with them studding their behaviors as well as taking photography. Chimps are fabulous fun to watch when playing in fruitful trees or tree blanches. In the process of chimp tracking, you will encounter many other primates including the black and white colobus monkey, baboons, grey checked mangabay, and civet monkey among many others plus many species of birds. After this wonderful activity, return back to the lodge for relaxation and lunch and in the afternoon, enjoy a nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary, here you will enjoy more species of birds and primates. After return back to the lodge or if you still have time and energy drive to Fort portal and visit the “Amabeere ganyina Mwiru” and the king’s palace. Day 9: Transfer to Murchison Falls national park.
Morning breakfast at the lodge, and then after, hit the road to Masindi and later to Murchison Falls national park. Optional visit to Zziwa Rhino sanctuary and track the black and white rhino, have lunch in Masindi town and later continue with the drive to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight at (luxury)Paraa Safari Lodge / (mid -range)Murchison River lodge /(budget) Red Chilli rest Camp.
Day 10: Game drive and Fantastic boat cruise
After a cup of coffee / tea embark on a morning game drive in the northern part of the park to catch up with very many species of wildlife turning to their hide-outs. Games expected to see include the African lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffaloes, Antelopes and Giraffes, water buck, worth hogs among others. After the activity, return back to the lodge for late breakfast, relaxation and lunch. After lunch, enjoy a 3 hours launch cruise along the River Nile to the bottom of Murchison falls. Here, you will see various species of birds, schools of hippos and crocodiles as well as elephant relaxing on the shores. Day 11: Morning chimp tracking and depart to Kampala
Early morning breakfast and then after get briefed about the dos and don’ts while with chimps and then after, enter the Kaniyo Pabidi forest reserve to begin the search of our closest relatives. Chimp tracking is a fantastic experience since they are fabulous fun to watch when playing and jumping from one tree to another. After an hour with them, you will transfer back to Kampala reaching in the evening for dinner and overnight at (Luxury) Serena Hotel, (mid-range) Cassia Lodge, Landmark view Hotel (Budget).
Day 12: City Tour and Departure
Depending on your departure flight, you will first do a city tour around Kampala and visit some of the interesting places around. Places to visit include the Kasubi Tombs a burial place for over four kings of Buganda, the National museum, Bahai temple, Gadafhi Mosque Namugongo Shrine, where the Uganda martyrs were burnt live for refusing to denounce their Christian faith, take visit also to the local market among others if time allows. Enjoy lunch in the city and then later transfer to the airport to meet your departure flight back home if scheduled on this day.
