Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Birding in Entebbe
Upon your arrival at the Entebbe international airport, you will be met and welcomed by our safari guide/driver who will drive you direct to your hotel either in Entebbe/Kampala. However, depending on your arrival time, you will explore several sites in Entebbe like visit the Botanical gardens at the shores of Lake Victoria for an opportunity to view several species of birds including the Black and white Casqued Hornbill and Ross’s Turaco, view also the blue turacos among many others. Alternatively, you can board a ferry to Ngamba Island chimp sanctuary which hosts over 300 species of birds view them or you can enjoy an optional boat trip. Day 2: Transfer to Mt Elgon National Park
After breakfast at the lodge/hotel, you will be driven to the eastern part of Uganda to Mbale with lunch en-route. Stop at Sipi falls in mountain Elgon national park which has fantastic views, also explore the forest around the park for an opportunity to view several species of birds. Birds expected to see include the Tacazze sun birds, bronze napped pigeon etc plus a good number of wild animals. Dinner and an overnight at Sipi Falls lodge

Day 3: Transfer to Kidepo valley National park
Wake up for breakfast at the lodge and then after, embark on a transfer to Kidepo valley national park in the northern part of Uganda, arrive in time at the lodge (Apoka Lodge) for lunch and in the evening if you still have energy, go for a game drive around the park for an opportunity to view various species of birds and animals Birds expects to see Ostrich, kori, carmine, animals expected to see include bush duiker, jackal and elephant among many more.

Day 4: Game drive and bird viewing in Kidepo
Early morning breakfast is followed with a game drive in the Narus valley, games expected to see include the tree climbing lions, elephant, leopard, bush duiker and jackal, buffaloes, hyena among many others expect also to many species of birds like the attractive silver bird, yellow billed shrike, Nubian woodpecker, little weaver and red-cheeked cordon-blue just to mention but a few. After this wonderful activity embark on a slow drive back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the evening follow the ranger guide to Morungule Mountain for forest exploration for more chance to view various species of birds such as the Ostrich, kori bustard, eagle Egyptian vulture as well as many species of animals including buffaloes, bush pigs, bush baby, elephants just to mention but a few. Day 5: Wildlife viewing and birding Kidepo
This morning after a cup of tea/coffee, you will again enjoy a game drive in the park for more chance to see various species of animals you may have missed to see, you will have spectacular view of the striped hyena, caracal, cheetah, klipspringer, great and lesser kudu, gazelle, warthogs, Rothschild giraffe, orib, hartebeest, cape buffalo just to mention but a few. Retire back to the lodge for relaxation breakfast and lunch. After lunch, go to the valley for more chance to several species of birds found around here dinner and an overnight at Apoka lodge.

Day 6: community walk and picnic site on the sand

This day after breakfast, you will enjoy a community walk and visit the local homesteads of the Karamajongs ‘’Manyatts’’ and kraals, you will be entertained through their traditional cultural dance and songs, they will also introduce to you their costumes, stools, headdresses, bows, knives and jewelry and also explain to you how they have managed to live near the park. From here you will head for a picnic site on the sand and enjoy the soft sound of palm leaves. From here take a slow drive back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight at Apoka lodge

Day 7: Drive back to Kampala
After breakfast at the lodge, embark on a long drive back to Kampala with lunch en-route and later transfer to your hotel for dinner and an overnight at Buziga country Resort (Budget), Cassia lodge (midrange), Serena hotel luxury)

Day 8: Transfer to the Airport
If your departure flight is in the morning you will be driven to the airport and meet your departure flight back home, however if it’s in the evening, you may first enjoy a half day birding around Entebbe at Uganda wildlife education center.
